The ATCA Annual Conference is always a busy event for us and this year was no different. With the event co-located with CMAC for the first time, the exhibition hall and conference suites were a buzz of activity.
GO Loader Aviation
If you missed the news we excitedly launched GO Loader Aviation at ATCA – our new, Aviation flavored version of our award-winning GO Loader data loading product. Designed with the needs of those working with aviation data in mind, GO Loader Aviation is a powerful tool for loading and managing the latest data standards – AIXM, WXXM, FIXM, and future extensions.
FAA SWIM Connect
A big driver at ATCA was the FAA SWIM Connect spotlight event located within the exhibition hall itself – featuring how the FAA’s SWIM is transforming all phases of flight with their partner programs. The event was an example of collaboration between the FAA, industry, international and users in the aviation community and we were pleased to be able to contribute our own experiences of loading and displaying Digital NOTAMs with GO Loader Aviation and the ATM Viewer. The FAA have made all the presentations from SWIM Connect available online and we recommend taking a look at these.
Inspired by the SWIM Connect event, we at Snowflake conducted a webinar titled “Getting Plugged-in to SWIM” where we covered some of the challenges in connecting to SWIM, in particular handling not only AIXM, WXXM, FIXM – the standard data exchange models of SWIM, but also multiple versions of the models as well as multiple extensions. Check out our webinar to find out how Snowflake’s model-driven approach can address the diversity challenges of SWIM, enabling stakeholders to not only get plugged-in to SWIM sooner rather than later BUT also remain plugged-in as SWIM continues to evolve and grow.
Taking to the stage ourselves at ATCA, we offered up some free education with a live presentation of loading and managing Digital NOTAMs from the FAA FNS using GO Loader Aviation and the ATM Viewer.
Our recent webinar “Digital NOTAMs – Are you ready?” provides a great overview of what Tom and Nadine covered.
We topped a busy conference off with a site visit to the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport operations center. This was an incredibly eye opening tour and we saw first-hand how DCA is using the FAA Federal NOTAM system which has already helped them reduce their NOTAM generation time from 15 minutes down to 30 seconds. Seeing the FAA FNS being used in a live operational context has reinforced for all of us at Snowflake how important it is to make the consumption of Digital NOTAMs as easy as possible as soon as possible. Luckily GO Loader Aviation is already capable of handling Digital NOTAMs out of the box!
